Show us love.
This article (the cover story in this weeks Independent) is a loving-ly written "shout out" to a bunch of well deserving musicians and friends/ brothers struggling to make it happen musically.
This weekend I recorded all day yesterday over at The Second Story for this up and coming singer/songwriter Kris Hixon. Jamie McFarlane and Mike Gallagher played bass and guitar and Wade and Mark produced/ engineered the session. Saturday evening Daniel Hart picked me up and we carted my drums and stuff down to Mark Paulson's place in Raleigh to set up for The Physics of Meaning session on Sunday. We set up and rehearsed an additional song.
Today I played at Chapel Hill Bible Church in the morning and came home to teach a few drum lessons and the David and Daniel came by to pick me up and take me down to Raleigh for the Physics of Meaning session. Right now we're getting sounds, Mark Paulson is doing an awesome job getting everybody set up and good to go. I'm sitting next to David and while he's checking levels on his bass I'm typing this. Yepper. Alright, it looks like he's done. I'm signing off and David and I will go back to watching Fred Armisen on You Tube. Cheers!
Alright, I got my Cholesterol re-tested right before Xmas and here are the new numbers:
Total: 207
Triglycerides: 84
HDL: 52
LDL: 138
This is so much better than when I was last tested in July. I'm still hoping to bring the numbers down some more, but for now I'm glad I don't have to take medication.
I'm scheduled to run the Country Music Half-Marathon in April, so I'm continuing to run and hoping to increase my mileage so that the Half-Marathon is fun. Right now, I'm running about 8 miles during the week and 7-8 miles on the weekend. I'm hoping to increase that substantially by the time I get closer to April. Hopefully I can keep my injuries at bay and keep building momentum.
My brother sent me this link. It tells you everything that's going on in the world. How can you be sure this is accurate? My family used to have a police scanner and my mom would sit and listen to it at night to hear what was going on in our town. I liken this online tool to basically a scanner for the world. Fascinating.
This movie was pretty good. It was released in how do they say it, "limited release." I'm a little biased 'cause I know the director and cinematographer and thought they did a pretty good job with this. The film is being released on DVD and there is a little promo contest going on and it involves winning an HDTV, which is something I'll probably never buy, but I wouldn't mind winning one in a contest. So if you will, click on this link and may all your dreams come true! Uh, strike that, I can't get the damn thing to work. Argh.

- Total Cholesterol was 274,
- Triglycerides were like 282 (or maybe it's 252),
- HDL was 38 and
- LDL was 180.
- Total is now 254.
- Triglycerides are 140,
- HDL is 46, but my
- LDL is still the same at 180. Why?? Now I'm afraid I might have to start taking medication to lower my cholesterol...I guess we'll see.
Tomorrow I start running again after having to stop for the last month or so due to an injury to my Achille's Tendon. Tendonitis, what a pain. I hope to take it easy. I'm a little anxious about getting back into it. I hope I don't hurt myself again.
What's your favorite drink or cocktail? What's in it?
Question submitted by charm.vox.com
Chocolate Milkshake. Comfort food galore. Oh and Oreos but they only work as a drink if you put them in a glass with some milk and mix 'em all up. Yum.
